:الـجـبـال
Mountains are jagged masses of rock formation, rough and irregular in shape. They can change their character through the natural processes they undergo like in occasional earthquakes. Shaped by different geological events, these high, sharp and rugged mountain ranges, resembling sawteeth, form natural boundaries that can protect farmland from strong winds of the ocean and sandy storms of the desert. They also serve as good reserve basins of rainwater that is extremely needed for irrigation in periods of drought. In ardent weather, water can be channelled to drought-hit areas once trapped by mountains.
